The fly lands and tries to make its escape but can't and is either stuck on the paper by its wings or by its legs. This has the knock on effect of attracting more flies until the paper is full and requires replacement!
I am an animal lover but these flies, without any form of sonar devices attached, fly into your hair, ears, nose, well everywhere!
When they land in your hair, they buzz wildly to get out and it is simply horrible! Personally I much prefer to hear them buzzing on the fly paper!
